LOTRO Post-Downtime Events, Sales, Bonuses, and FAQ - 3/9/19

Once again, we do wish to apologize for the lengthy downtime we recently experienced. This message will serve as a singular location to learn more about where we sit for bonuses, events, sales, and more.

The Skirmish Event has been extended until March 18th at 3:00 AM Eastern (-4 GMT)

Legendary Story XP has been reduced from 60% of normal to 80% of normal through Wednesday, March 13th.

Last week's LOTRO Store sale has expired. This week's planned LOTRO Store sale is now live, and will be extended to last for the regular sales duration. Meanwhile, next week's sales will begin on Thursday as normal.

Finally, we wanted to let you know that we are working to put together a package of things to say thank you for being patient with us as we've worked through various data center-related issues in recent days. NOTE: None of the following Coupon Codes, LOTRO Points, or VIP time extensions have yet been granted or made. We will provide more information in the coming days, probably early next week.

All players will receive:

A Coupon Code for a free Appreciation Box containing: 5 100% XP Boosts, 5 Enhanced XP Supply, 5 Tomes of Defence, 2000 Figments of Splendour, 3 Rapid Crafting Boosts, and an assortment of seasonal dyes. (1/Account). Expiration end of April.

Additionally, VIP players will receive:

A VIP subscription time extension.
250 LOTRO Points automatically granted to their account if they have logged in during the previous 30 days.

Premium players who have logged in during the previous 30 days will receive:

250 LOTRO Points

Here's the latest on things:

This is the final weekend for the Skirmish Event, which will run until March 18th 3:00 AM Eastern (Europeans, remember the U.S. moved clocks ahead last weekend.)

The Lead the Charge end date is available until March 28th at 10:00 AM Eastern.

Bombur's Bounty is available in the LOTRO Store through March 17th.

Coupon Code:

The Coupon Code is being worked on. We do need a game update in order to be able to deliver it in-game through the use of a coupon code. It seems possible this could happen next week.

VIP Time:

The additional VIP time is in two parts currently:

- For those whose VIP billing or cancellation happened during a window over the downtime that caused your VIP status to not get recognized when the game worlds reopened: You should now have your proper VIP status automatically, whether you have submitted a ticket to customer service or not (hopefully you did, though.) Your VIP time has also been extended by three days, which is one day shorter than intended. We'll be working to get you a fourth day as soon as we can.
- For other VIPs: We have not yet extended your VIP time, but will as soon as we can. You can expect to receive four days of VIP time.

LOTRO Points:

We have not yet delivered the 250 LOTRO Points to VIP and Premium players who had logged in within 30 days of the downtime. We expect this to also happen as soon as we can.

When on all of this stuff? We will let you know as soon as either all or further parts of the above have been distributed. Our goal is to finish this up as soon as we can, probably next week. Initially we wanted to deliver everything at once, but it is more likely we will roll things out as soon as they are ready.

UPDATE: The 250 LOTRO Points have been automatically added to qualifying players' accounts. We continue to work to deliver the four days of VIP time to some affected accounts.

We have now granted the VIP time extension to remaining eligible players who had not previously received the extension. We are sorry it took as long as it has to get this done, but the process hit a few snags. Reminder that all eligible VIP players will have had four days added to their subscription end date.
